Design Principles

Our design system is built on a set of core principles that guide every component and interaction we create.

Clarity over cleverness: every UI element should communicate its purpose immediately. We favor explicit labels over icon-only buttons, clear hierarchy over decorative elements, and consistent patterns over novel interactions. Users should never wonder what something does.

Accessibility is not optional: all components must meet WCAG AA standards. This means 4.5:1 contrast ratios for text, keyboard navigability for all interactions, proper ARIA attributes, and support for reduced motion preferences. We design for the full spectrum of human ability.
